History

The National Institute for Food Control (NIFC) was established with decision No. 376/QD-TTg March 23, 2009 by the Prime Minister. Ensuring food safety and protecting public health have been a great interest of the Government of Vietnam, in response to urgent demands for the society and the international integration of food testing and monitoring.

Establishing based on the provisions of Decree No. 79/2008/ND-CP beside the system of Departments Food Safety and Hygiene in 63 provinces/cities under central government, the National Institute for Food Control is specialized organization whom deploye the food testing techniques in order to service of the state management of food safety and meet the needs of society.

As a new organization are established and put into operation, but the group of staffs, laborers were constantly striving, construction and development the Institute. In the past years, the Institute has gained many achievements to be proud of, an important contribution to the general development of the health sector and the field of specialized testing for food safety in Vietnam.

From November 2015, the Institute has officially operated at the address: No.65 Pham Than Duat Street, Cau Giay District, Hanoi.
