On 01-02/06/2022, Bureau of Accreditation has an assessment in extending the accredited scope of The National Institute for Food control in the field of Measurement - Calibration

Equipment calibration is a tool to ensure the validity of test results and is mandatory for all laboratories, that wish to demonstrate appropriate competence as required by ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

The National Institute for Food Control (NIFC) has implemented activities in the field of Measurement – Calibration and was initially accredited in 2018 by the Bureau of Accreditation (BoA). Currently, Institute is maintaining the accreditation for 5 calibration methods in the field of Mass, Thermal and Physical chemistry.

To improve the qualification in the field of Measurement – Calibration, the calibration staff has constantly been learning, improving, and developing new calibration methods not only to meet the requirements of testing, and calibrating internal equipment, but also to provide calibration services for other laboratories. On 01 – 02/06/2022, the Bureau of Accreditation has an assessment in extending the accredited scope of The National Institute for Food control in the field of Measurement - Calibration with 16 calibration methods including 5 areas:

The field of thermal consists of 5 testing methods:
-    Calibration of Humidity cabinet
-    Calibration of Sterilizer
-    Calibration of Furnace
-    Calibration of Hygro-Thermometer
-    Calibration of Liquid bath
The field of physical chemistry consists of 6 testing methods:
-    Calibration of Atomic Absorption Spectrometric
-    Calibration of Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry
-    Calibration of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography
-    Calibration of Potentiometric Titrators
-    Calibration of Karl-Fischer Titrators
-    Calibration of pH Meters
The field of Optical consists of 1 testing method:
-    Calibration of Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-VIS) 
The field of Capacity consists of 3 testing methods: 
-    Calibration of Laboratory glassware
-    Calibration of the Micropipette
-    Calibration of Dispenser
 The field of Time-Frequency consists of 1 testing method:
-    Calibration of Centrifuge
After 2 days of serious and impartiality work, the BoA expert highly appreciated the Institute's strict compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standard in the field of Measurement - Calibration. During the evaluation, the expert performed the metrological evaluation of some Artifact models in the Volumetric calibration field (Micropipette, volumetric flask) and the temperature field (Hygrometer), the results showed all calibrations that perform metrological evaluation have En < 1, this confirms that all calibration methods are selected to ensure scientific accuracy and correctness. During the 
evaluation, the expert pointed out some inappropriate points, NIFC respectfully accepts these recommendations to improve the quality management system of NIFC, as well as the field of Measurement - Calibration is implemented more effectively.
