On August 20, 2024, the Workshop on "Orientation and solutions for the development of the Vietnam Journal of Food Control" stated both short-term and long-term solutions to the continuous improvement in term of the quality of the Journal, aiming to international recognition.
The workshop was held at the National Institute for Food Control (NIFC) with the participation of experts, scientists in the field of publishing and members of the editorial board of the Vietnam Journal of Food Control (VJFC), heads of laboratories and researchers working at NIFC.

At the workshop, Dr. Tran Cao Son, Editor-in-Chief of the VJFC reported the activities of VJFC and its future plans towards international recognition. Prof. Dr. Tran Dai Lam, Chairman of the State Professorship Council of Chemistry and Food Technology Interdisciplinary, Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Journal of Chemistry, presented the ASEAN Citation Index (ACI) requirements as well as experience in strategizing Vietnamese scientific journals to fullfill the ISI and Scopus requirements. After that, Assoc. Prof. Dr.. Nguyen Thi Anh Huong, Deputy Head of Analytical Chemistry Falcuty - Hanoi University of Sciences - Vietnam National University gave a general overview of international publication trends in the field of natural sciences.
Prof. Dr. Phan Tuan Nghia, Chairman of the State Professorship Council of Biology highly appreciated the Journal's activities, recognizing that the Journal has been on the right track and needed to continue investing in improving quality. Prof. Phan Tuan Nghia also shared experiences and offered useful solutions to help the Journal improve its quality and join regional and international Journal systems. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Cong Khan, senior expert, former Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Training, Ministry of Health emphasized the importance of ethics issues in research and publishing as well as the development orientation of the field of Preventive Medicine for the VJFC. At the workshop, members of the Journal's Editorial Board also reported the submission process for authors, common errors during manuscript submission and their solutions.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hong Hao, Director General of the National Institute for Food Control chaired the discussion and presented the conclusion of the Workshop. The discussion focused on the journal's existing problems, short-term and long-term development plans, solutions to improve the quality and format of the Journal’s printing; roadmap to improve scores of the State Council of Professors in various fields; criteria for joining international journal systems (ACI, DOAJ, Scopus, Web of Science).
The Workshop provided the participants with a lot of useful scientific information about improving the quality of scientific articles. The Journal’s Editorial Board received many valuable recommendations contributing to improving the quality of the Journal as well as providing appropriate and timely directions for the development of the Journal.
