ISO/IEC 17043:2023 Conformity assessment – ​General requirements for the competence of proficiency testing providers was officially published on 9 May 2023, replacing the previous version ISO/IEC 17043:2010. The International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) has agreed that there will be a three (03) year transition period; at the end of this period, providers accredited to ISO/IEC 17043:2010 worldwide must be assessed and accredited to ISO/IEC 17043:2023.

The National Institute for Food Control (NIFC) is the first PT provider in Vietnam to be assessed and recognized that meet the requirements of ISO/IEC 17043:2023 by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) with accreditation code 4254.01. In the coming time, NIFC will continue to strengthen the organization of more proficiency testing schemes to meet the needs of laboratories as well as management agencies.
