With the approval of the Ministry of Health, the Food Control Conference 2022 was successfully organized by the National Institute for Food Control in collaboration with the Vietnam Food Administration. The conference was an important event gathering and widely sharing of Vietnam’s and the world’s research results, experiences and practical applications in food testing. The conference took place in two days, on October 20 - 21, 2022.
Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen attended and delivered his opening remarks at the conference. The Deputy Minister emphasized: "In recent years, Vietnam's food testing system at central level has been invested in technical infrastructure, synchronously advanced equipment and given priority to training for staff specializing in food testing. The Ministry of Health and related ministries have step-by-step been improving the food testing system’s capacity at the local level, gradually reducing the distance, creating relative synchronization between regions. The Deputy Minister suggested: "The testing is mainly carried out at the central level while it’s limited at the local level for not meeting the modern testing needs yet. The science technology development and the understanding of the local situation are announced at the conference to strengthen capacity, make solutions so that the local level can share the burden with the the central level; focusing on dealling with the inadequacies and limitations, especially the gap between the central and local levels.

The conference welcomed the leaders of Departments, Administrations and Institutes under the Ministry of Health; Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Public Security and scientists from Institutes, Universities; Food safety laboratories, organizations and individuals specializing in the field of food safety. In particular, the conference had the participation of international experts from the US, Russia, Sweden, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea...

Speaking at the conference, Assoc.Prof. Le Thi Hong Hao, Director general of the National Institute for Food Control gave her sincere thank to the Deputy Minister for his valuable direction and support in the field of testing, also thanked the leaders, experts, and scientists attending the conference. Assoc.Prof. Le Thi Hong Hao highlighted: “As the highest level food testing agency of the health sector serving the food safety state management of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the National Institute for Food Control wishes to receive the further sharing, contribution and support of the Ministry of Health, agencies, organizations to develop and gain more success in professional activities on food testing.

- Scientific session 3: Probiotics
- Scientific session 4: Toxins and contaminants
- Scientific session 5: Heavy metals and minerals
- Scientific session 6: Quality control in testing
The Food Control Conference 2022 attracts the participation of the leading scientists in the world and Vietnam in the field of food testing. A total of 41 reports and 33 Poster reports were presented at the conference. The reports were selected from more than 100 articles of the domestic and foreign researchers.
The conference’s organizing committee awarded certificates to the speakers and the excellent posters including 01 First Prize; 02 Second Prizes, 03 Third Prizes and 04 Consolation prizes.
The Food Control Conference 2022 is an important event, delivering useful scientific information in the field of food testing management, laboratory quality assurance according to international standards and advanced testing methods thanks to the application of modern equipment to quickly and accurately detect hazards in food, meeting the requirements of international integration in the region and in the world.
