Food washing machines (FWM) that clean vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, etc. are quite popular today. The operation of the machine is simple, easy and does not take much time of the housewives. Manufacturers and distributors often advertise that the FWM can completely remove harmful substances such as: bacteria, pesticides, chemical fertilizers, residual antibiotics, contamination in food by ion sterilization technology (ion purification, ionization, hydroxyl electrolysis), high frequency ultrasonic purification, UVC sterilization is safe for users, bringing superior efficiency compared to the traditional method of washing vegetables with water.

National Institute for Food Control (NIFC) has conducted performance testing of FWM products. Depending on the manufacturer's announcement and customer needs, NIFC will advise customers on the necessary testing contents.
